It's always refreshing to be around positive people who enjoy your presence as you do theirs. It's an experience that provides incessant learning, revealing your bare soul in front of strangers causing the feelings of empathy and elation. I wish I could go more into detail about the experience but it's one of those things where I could do no justice for the experience without having someone physically/emotionally go through it themselves.
Things I'm thankful for:
- the delegates openness
- the revelation of vulnerability
- the power of touch and timely consolation
- diversity and culture
- god, finally and gradually diminishing social constructs: sexism, sexuality, racism, family issues, stereotypes of all sorts etc.
- witnessing strangers become one
- friendship/kinship
- acceptance
- the sunshine after the rain
- reflection in such a beautiful space-- the forrest definitely helped the experience and seclusion from the ugly/polluted world we live in!
- inside jokes-- that freakin "ok" hand gesture the delegates started up!
- my girl, lean on me, we are the world
- meeting new people
- the hope that lives were affected by this experience
- POSITIVE, POSITIVE ENERGY
I'm looking forward to going again.
